MAKEart Studios

MAKEart Studios offers art classes for kids, art lessons for teens, and art classes and workshops for adults. Students take part in activities such as watercolor and brush lettering in classes and hands-on workshops that are customized and immersive, with personalized, small-group instruction led by a certified art educator and professional artist. The program uses top-tier, high-quality supplies and materials in all classes and workshops for kids, teens, and adults.

MAKEart Studios is led by owner and instructor Heather Klausa, who is also a freelance artist and educator. Heather Klausa is a certified art educator and professional working artist with a BFA from The University of Illinois in Art Education and a BFA in Painting after study at the University of Verona, Italy. She has taught in public schools and private settings since 2005 and regularly exhibits her work and participates in artist residencies. MAKE started in 2017, after Heather transitioned from teaching in the public school system to teaching in her home studio in 2016. Heather was raised in Downers Grove and attended Downers Grove South.
