About

Panther Football & Cheer offers Panther Football Camp, tackle football, flag football, sideline cheer, and competitive cheer. Panther Football Camp is a pre-season spring camp on March 25th and March 26th from 6:00-7:30pm and costs $75. Tackle football is for athletes 7-14 years old by August 1, and players are placed on a team based on age, weight, and ability after the first week of practice. Flag football is for 5-7 year olds by August 1, sideline cheer is for ages 5-14 by August 1, and competitive cheer is for ages 5-14 by August 1.

Programs

  • Panther Football Camp — Incoming Kindergarten through 8th grade athletes for the 2026 season · Pre-season spring camp: March 25th and March 26th, 6:00-7:30pm · $75
  • Tackle Football — 7-14 years old by August 1 of the current year · Competitive tackle football organization. All tackle football players are placed on a team based on age, weight, and ability after the first week of practice.
  • Flag Football — 5-7 years old by August 1 of the current year · Flag football program. For safety concerns any 7 year-old that weighs over 70lbs will not be eligible to play Flag football but is welcome to join the 8U tackle football team.
  • Sideline Cheer — 5-14 years old by August 1 of the current year · Cheerleaders are assigned to a cheer squad, based on age.
  • Competitive Cheer — 5-14 years old by August 1 of the current year · Cheerleaders are assigned to a cheer squad, based on age.

About the provider

The organization says it has provided a structured, safe and secure environment for young athletes for over 60 years, and it notes that the page is for the 64th season of Panther Football & Cheer. Its mission is to develop the fundamentals of football and cheerleading through teamwork and sportsmanship. Panther Football & Cheer is a member of the Bill George Youth Football League and a proud affiliate of the Downers Grove Park District. It is open to athletes who live in Downers Grove and surrounding areas, and it is a travel league with opponents in the western suburbs.

No player-on-player contact during camp. There will be drills where a player will tackle a bag. There are no refunds for camp for any reason (including injury or illness).
