Mr. Parra is on a mission to bring the benefits of the martial arts to more Latino youth and families in Elgin, and he instructs in both English and Spanish. The school notes “Se habla Espanol,” and describes itself as a supportive and active community serving the east side of Elgin and South Elgin, IL. Parents have shared that it is a very nice place and that their children are learning a lot about discipline, how to defend themselves, and how to control their emotions. One parent said that Mr. Parra is an excellent teacher who instructs in both English and Spanish and can relate to teaching kids and adults. Another parent said that Javier really exceeded expectations and clearly explained to their daughter what martial arts is about, and that their daughter was very excited to start classes.
