About
Take 2 Creative Camp gives teens the chance to write scripts, shoot videos, direct videos, edit video footage, and use a green screen. Participants create vlogs, blogs, podcasts, videos, tutorials, artwork, clothing lines, coloring pages, video games, books that are available for purchase on Amazon, and fundraisers. They also star in videos, volunteer, go on field trips, and document their adventures.
• Ages: 12–15 years old
• Schedule: June 15–August 7, 2026, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
• Price: The cost is $25 per participant.
During Take 2 Creative Camp, participants work with computers, cameras, tablets, and different software programs to create content about themselves and the Elgin community. The program includes a Red Carpet event at the end of the summer where students show their work to friends, family, and the Elgin community. Take 2 Creative Camp is celebrating its 10th birthday in 2026, and past projects have included books that are available for purchase on Amazon. The Take 2 teen program teaches teens how to use technology to explore their creativity and be confident in voicing their opinions on multiple platforms. The program is part of YWCA Elgin, whose mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The leadership contact for the program is Korisa ([email protected]).
