Summer Programs at Good Shepherd Church & School are connected with a Christ-centered school, spiritual growth classes, and dynamic worship and music programs. The program is part of a larger church community that also offers live services on Facebook and YouTube, as well as blended, traditional, and contemporary worship services on weekends.
Good Shepherd was started as a mission church in 1938 and began 75 years ago to bring the Gospel to those living on Elgin's west side. Its stated mission is to be a family of believers with faith and hope in Jesus Christ and to extend Jesus’ love in homes and in the community through its school, classes, and worship and music programs, with the mission “to love people into a living relationship with Jesus.” One parent, Sharon M., describes Good Shepherd Church as a friendly and inviting place to worship, with many opportunities to learn about God's Word through weekend services, Bible studies, Wednesday evening classes, and outreach events that connect to the community.
