About

Day Camp includes large group activities and games, arts and crafts, nature studies, sports, theme weeks, and Fun Friday events. Campers swim two days a week at the Grayslake Family Aquatic Center and go on off-site field trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Camp days are structured with some semi-unstructured time so campers have quiet time to recharge.

• Ages: 6–9 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, with swimming on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30–3pm, and off-site field trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays

The program is for children entering 1st–4th grade, with a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 90 campers. Each camper receives one t-shirt per summer that must be worn on field trip days. Optional hot lunch is offered every Wednesday and Friday throughout the summer, with lunch menus available at camp and to be completed and turned in to the Camp Director with payment each day. Families who do not need a full week of camp can use a daily code to indicate which days the camper will attend. Parents are responsible for reviewing the Camp Handbook online and returning the required Emergency Forms prior to or on the first day of camp. The field trip schedule is finalized by April 11 and is available at www.glpd.com/summer-camps. Registration is due one week prior to the session, and parents are asked to include their camper’s shirt size on the registration form. Campers are asked to bring a reusable water bottle, a healthy snack, a sack lunch, sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a towel each day, and there is no refrigerator available and the school building is not air-conditioned.

The Grayslake Community Park District is a separate government agency established for the purpose of providing leisure programs, parks, and recreation facilities for the community.
