Palladia Farm Summer Camp

Palladia Farm Summer Camp includes daily horseback riding and hands-on horse care such as haltering, leading, grooming, putting on bridles and saddles, and mounting safely. Campers take part in 30–45 minute semi-private or group riding lessons that can include riding at the walk, trot, and canter, navigating the ring at a walk and trot, and riding over low jumps if appropriate. They also spend time learning to recognize horse breeds and colors, learning different styles of riding, recognizing and treating common ailments, cleaning and assembling tack, and joining arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, games, and miscellaneous fun around the barn.

• Schedule: Tuesday to Friday, 9:30am to 3:00pm, in week-long sessions
• Price: $650 per week-long session, per camper, payable in advance

Palladia Farm Summer Camp takes place at Palladia Farm, a premier full-service equestrian business founded in 2003. The camp uses the clubroom and barn aisle for activities and is set on 15 acres. The leadership team includes Rachel Johnson (Owner & Head Trainer), Margaret Clayton (Barn Owner & Assistant to Rachel), Poppy VandenBiesen (Instructor), and Stephanie Skrodzki (Barn Administrator and occasional Instructor). Palladia has USHJA-certified trainers, and Margaret is a SafeSport-trained United States Hunter/Jumper Association Certified Trainer and an American Riding Instructors Association certified trainer. Palladia’s students and horses have won USEF Zone V Championships and year-end awards in multiple hunter and equitation divisions and have qualified for and attended Pony Finals, Indoors, and the USEF Medal and ASPCA Maclay Finals. The camp follows Palladia’s mission statement: at Palladia, the staff values the individuality and creativity of every child.
