Rivellino School of Art Summer Camp
Rivellino School of Art, 350 Old McHenry Road, Long Grove, IL 60047
About
Rivellino School of Art Summer Camps offers week-long art camps that include a walking field trip in downtown Long Grove to a candy store and ice cream parlor. On Fridays, the program takes campers on this walking field trip, and children who participate are asked to bring $5 to $10 for candy and ice cream.
• Ages: 6–14 years old
• Schedule: Camps are available in one-week increments, with sessions from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
• Price: The cost is $215/week per camp.
Students are grouped by age and given activities that match their ability, and all materials are included in the camp cost. Students should bring a labeled snack and water bottle that are non-perishable, and sunscreen is recommended. If a child is staying for the full day, the program asks that they bring a peanut-free lunch labeled with their name; lunches can be stored in the refrigerator.
The Rivellino School of Art uses the Illinois District’s Goals and Standards as an essential element of its curriculum and displays photos of its classes and students’ work. The school offers art instruction to all ages and keeps classes small to provide individual attention and support. Roshel Rivellino is the Founder and Director of the Rivellino School of Art and oversees and team teaches every class.
Teachers at Rivellino School of Art are all certified, experienced teachers, most with Masters Degrees, and are described as highly qualified with a passion for teaching. The school states that it provides a safe and fun environment that is conducive to learning, where children can explore creative challenges without fear of failure, and where students are given encouragement and support to foster confidence and creativity.
One parent, Bridget Maloney, describes the art school as fantastic, with a welcoming and fun experience for kids and adults, and says they can teach anyone how to paint. Another participant, Ty Bonds, describes attending the Schaefer/Miles Oil Painting Demonstration & Workshop at the school as an incredible learning experience for both beginners and advanced art students.
