About
Mahomet Summer Camp is a program of the Stephens Family YMCA. The camp includes a Campers in Leadership Training Program for rising 7th and 8th graders at Mahomet Junior High School. Every camper is signed in and out each day on a sheet in the gymnasium by a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years old, and a photo ID is required every day at pickup.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM, with early drop off starting at 8:15 AM and late pick up until 4:15 PM; optional pre-activities from 7:30 AM and post activities from 4:15–5:30 PM are available for an additional cost.
• Price: $1.00 per minute charge if a parent or guardian is late in picking up a child past 5:30 PM.
The Stephens Family YMCA states a mission of putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The organization partners with Mahomet Parks and Rec to bring Y Camp to Mahomet and is a Child Care Resource Service (CCRS) provider that accepts other third-party payments. YMCA program or membership scholarships are offered to those who qualify, and for families approved for both CCRS and a YMCA scholarship, CCRS is applied first and then the scholarship percentage is applied to the remaining balance. Participants approved for CCRS, scholarships, or other third-party payments must register for camp with a Director for financial assistance to be applied to deposits and payments.
The Summer Day Camp staff will not allow a child to leave the building with anyone who is intoxicated, under visibly apparent drug use, or who may cause immediate harm. The Y and Camp Directors have the right to change or add rules that may improve the overall camp program. Leadership contacts include Amy Rife, Mahomet After School Director; Amy Chipman for scholarship questions; and Kayla Carter for CCRS questions.
