About
Metamora Youth Sports Association offers youth sports programs that include basketball, baseball, and softball. The program is run by an independent, volunteer organization that provides recreational activities for youth. MYSA is a local organization dedicated to promoting youth sports in Metamora.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: MYSA Board meetings are held once per month throughout the year, usually on Sundays at 7:00 pm.
The mission of the Metamora Youth Sports Association is to offer organized sports for all who sign up and to sponsor sports that are fun. Its programs are stated to provide an opportunity for children to improve their skills regardless of their ability, and sports are performed at locations selected to support these goals. Sport programs are developed to promote teamwork and fellowship in a wholesome setting, and MYSA will work to raise funds to create or improve facilities and equipment needed to meet these goals.
Although MYSA is not part of the Metamora School District or the Metamora Park District, it contributes to the community by providing programs that benefit the community as a whole. Children from the Metamora Grade School District are automatically eligible to participate in MYSA-sponsored activities. Children from surrounding communities without an organization providing the same activity are also eligible, and children from areas that do have such an organization are considered on a case-by-case basis.
The MYSA will not discriminate according to race, religion, physical or sexual orientation. MYSA reserves the right to deny any eligible child participation if the actions of that child or a parent are found unacceptable by the Board of Directors, and a child or parent with behavior deemed unacceptable by the Board will be specifically excluded from MYSA activities. MYSA is always in need of volunteers.
