Illinois Basketball Academy offers summer youth basketball camps that include skill contests, station work, and both 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 scrimmages. Camp activities cover ball handling and dribbling drills, set play and fast break dribbling styles, rebounding, passing, defense, shooting drills, and form and balance training. The program also includes Illinois Stars Travel Basketball Teams, Illinois Basketball Academy Training, and Strictly Shooting.

• Schedule: Weekly summer sessions with grade-based time slots
• Price: $225 per week, or $50 per day

The summer camp schedule includes Session 1 from June 3rd to June 7th, Session 2 from June 10th to June 14th, Session 3 from June 17th to June 21st, and Session 4 from August 5th to August 9th. Daily times are 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for 3rd–5th grades and 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm for 6th–8th grades. Each camper receives a T-shirt.

Illinois Basketball Academy states its mission as maximizing a child’s potential to achieve success in life and imparting values learned through sports activities, including discipline, work ethic, leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-evaluation, humility, and the importance of academic excellence. The mission also includes creating an atmosphere in which children can express themselves comfortably, encouraging children to perform at their optimal ability, making tutorial sessions available to children who struggle academically, elevating children’s minds while promoting fitness and athleticism, and building self-esteem and character. The program states that its goal is to provide a positive and educational environment to help each player become skilled in the fundamentals, be part of a competitive team, and have fun playing basketball.

Illinois Basketball Academy is the home of the Illinois Stars and offers competitive basketball teams and instruction for boys and girls in kindergarten through 12th grade. It has locations across the central northern Chicagoland area, is headquartered in the southwest Chicagoland suburb of Aurora, and offers seasonal camps and/or year-round programs in Oakbrook, Rockford, West Dundee, and more, with additional Illinois locations planned. One participant, Anthony, a junior at Marmion Academy, states that IBA has helped him elevate his character and hone his focus to meet mental and physical challenges.
