About
Naperville Little League Baseball offers baseball, Challenger Baseball, and Sandlot Baseball. Sandlot Baseball uses coach pitch “sponge” ball to introduce the game to younger children. Challenger Baseball is an adaptive baseball program for children with physical or intellectual challenges and pairs each Challenger Player with a Buddy, a registered NLLB player, during games.
• Ages: Pre-k through 8th grade, with Challenger Baseball open through grade 12 and for students under 23 enrolled in a school district program
• Schedule: Regular seasons generally run from early or late April through late June, with most divisions playing one game during the week and one game on Saturday; Sandlot Baseball runs from late May through the first week in July, and Challenger Baseball games are held on Saturdays with a 30-minute warm-up and 1–1.5 hours of game play
Since 1952, Naperville Little League has been committed to providing an outlet of healthful baseball activity and training under good leadership in an atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The programs are dedicated to helping kindergartners to 8th graders become good and decent citizens and to inspiring children with an awareness and fondness of community, while giving every child the chance to be a team member and develop skills on and off the field of play. Naperville Little League is divided into three leagues—the Continental League, the National League, and the Republic League—arranged by elementary school borders, and the elementary school boundary in which a player resides or attends school determines which league the child will play in.
Naperville Little League is open to boys and girls in 1st through 8th grade for each particular school year, Sandlot Baseball is for pre-k and kindergarten boys and girls in the 2025–2026 school year, and Challenger Baseball is open to boys and girls in grades 1 through 12 and to students under 23 enrolled in a school district program. Supreme AA and Majors AA divisions are for players who want to play games at a higher skill level and require tryouts, include off season training, and keep rosters at 12 players throughout the entire season. Scores and standings are not kept in Sandlot Baseball, Rookies A Division, and Rookies AA Division, while Supreme A, Supreme AA, Majors A, Majors AA, and Junior Divisions keep scores and standings and certain teams advance to playoffs to compete for City Champion.
Challenger Baseball games are held on Saturdays, starting with a 30-minute warm-up and practice followed by 1–1.5 hours of game play, and use flexible innings. Sandlot Baseball runs from late May through the first week in July with about 8 games, typically one during the week and one on Saturday afternoon. Rookies A and Rookies AA Division seasons run from about late April through mid June with approximately 12–14 games, usually one during the week and one on Saturday. Supreme A Division runs from about late April through late June with approximately 12–14 games, and Supreme AA Division runs from early April through late June with approximately 18–20 games, both generally with one game during the week and one on Saturday and some weeknight games at 8:00 pm on lighted fields. Majors A Division runs from late April through late June with approximately 12–14 games, Majors AA Division runs from early April through late June with approximately 18–20 games, and the Junior Division runs from late April through late June with approximately 12–14 games, all generally with one game during the week and one on Saturday and some games at 8:00 pm on lighted fields.
Naperville Little League’s boundaries encompass all the schools in districts 203 and 204, including children in Naperville and parts of Bolingbrook, Lisle, and Aurora. The Challenger League serves Naperville and surrounding areas and pairs each Challenger Player with a Buddy, a registered NLLB player, to help develop skills and create meaningful relationships. Naperville Little League Baseball has been highlighted on NCTV17’s spotlight segment.
The leadership team includes Director of Operations Lisa O'Rear, former NLLB manager and board member Tim Pfleeger, and new board member Mitch Izenstark.
