Learning Is Fun Preschool

Learning Is Fun Preschool offers Preschool, Pre-K2, Kindergarten Prep, Early Learners Two’s Program, Silly Goose Afternoon Play, and an Extended Day Enrichment Class. The Extended Day Enrichment Class includes weekly enrichment activities in Phonics and Literacy, STEM Exploration, and Creative Music and Art. The Early Learners Two’s Program and Silly Goose Afternoon Play do not require toilet training.

About the provider

The program has served families since 1974 and has been located at St. Timothy Lutheran Church since 1974. The staff say they work in partnership with parents and family and are specialists in preschool education and development. The program is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, follows the Illinois Early Learning Standards established by the Illinois State Board of Education, Division of Early Childhood Education, and is chartered by the federal government as a not-for-profit educational center.

• Kindergarten Prep — late-four, early-five year old developmental level · M-F 8:45-1:30 · Limited to 10 children.
• Pre-K2 — four and early five year old developmental level · T/Th or MWF, 8:45-11:45 · Limited to 10 children per teacher.
• Preschool — three and four year old developmental level · T/Th or MWF, 8:45-11:45 · Limited to 10 children per teacher.
• Extended Day Enrichment Class — children who will be attending Kindergarten the following year · M-W-F 11:45-1:30 · Extension of the preschool program; weekly enrichment activities include Phonics and Literacy, STEM Exploration, and Creative Music and Art.
• Early Learners Two’s Program — 2 1/2-3 year old pre-academic developmental level · T-Th 9:00-11:30 · Limited to 6 children. Being toilet trained is not a requirement for this program.
• Silly Goose Afternoon Play — 2 1/2-3 year old pre-academic developmental level · T-Th 12:00-1:30 · Limited to 6 children. Being toilet trained is not a requirement for this program.

Teacher-student ratio is 1:10 and 1:5 for many activities. Enrichment programs are at no additional cost. Required forms include a registration form, enrollment packet, signed verification of receipt summary of DCFS licensing standards, signed verification of receipt LIF Parent Handbook, DCFS Child Health Exam Form, and Birth Certificate. Forms must be completed and brought to school on or before Orientation Day. Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is open to existing families on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 and to new families on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026.
