Grand Master Yoon is the CEO of YK Martial Arts and holds a 7th degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and a 5th degree Black Belt in Hapkido. Grand Master Yoon has around 15 years of competitions experience, around 10 years of tournaments experience, and has done more than 100 tournaments. The LITTLE TIGERS Program is described as being designed to help children foster listening and motor skills, while staying disciplined and having fun. YK Martial Arts offers a SPECIAL NEEDS program for all ages that focuses on focus, self-control, physical and mental strength development, communication build up, one-on-one time for the student with the master, and confidence build up. Hapkido at YK Martial Arts is described as a Korean martial art that focuses on self-defense, where the essence is to gain advantage through technique to avoid using strength against strength, and it is stated to be especially useful for small people, as they are not required to meet the full force of an attacker.
YK Martial Arts offers a BLACK BELT CLUB with a prerequisite of 1st Degree Black Belt, which includes professional leadership training, certification by Grandmaster Yoon, recommendation letters to school and college students, advance level form and curriculum, and Olympic style sparring. The MASTERS CLUB has a prerequisite of 2nd degree Black Belt and offers stronger leadership training, majoring in Taekwondo and sub-majoring in Hapkido training, as well as self defense, gun defense, and knife defense. All Masters and the Grandmaster train students who are volunteering to help in class and who are Junior Instructors to improve their communication and teaching skills, and students get the opportunity to teach the class. The program states that YK Junior Instructors are on their way to be stronger and better martial artists, and that each teacher has their own significant style and connection with the students, and that a child can be a teacher there one day.
Sign up for the 3 Weeks for ONLY $45 trial includes a free uniform, and this is described as their best trial offer and only available online. Certification by Grandmaster Yoon and recommendation letters are offered to school and college students. YK Martial Arts states that it is proud to announce its partnership with the PVSA. The program notes that it had 100+ participants who performed at the IL OPEN 2024 Championship. One parent testimonial states that Masters Julian and Carlos are supportive and encouraging toward each child, that both children in that family have learned discipline, respect, focus, and honesty consistently for more than three years from Grandmaster and the YK staff, and that the parent is happy with the decision to enroll their children in YK Martial Arts.
