Counselors are trained and are guided and evaluated by the Youth Programs Supervisor. The department partners with S.O.A.R. (Special Opportunities Available in Recreation) to provide inclusion services and aide support when needed.
Trained counselors lead programs that include arts & crafts, nature activities, sports, games, and other forms of recreation. The program highlights confidence and friendships through social skills in a group setting, teamwork and respect through sportsmanship with peers and counselors, active play through games and recreation, and skill building through activities such as arts & crafts, nature, and sports.
All emergency forms are collected electronically using ePACT, an online emergency network. After registration, families receive an email link from ePACT to create or set up an account and add camper records, including health records, emergency contact information, pick up authorizations, and field trip permission slips.
