About
Kids Science Labs offers science camps, day camps, birthday parties, field trips, after school programs, and science classes that focus on hands-on science experiments and STEM experimentation programs. Children take part in activities such as dissecting real specimens, designing experiments, and participating in STEM Summer Camps, STEM Labs & Field Trips, Pre-K Science Classes, in-school STEM labs, and hands-on workshops.
• Ages: 2–12 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Sunday, 8am–5pm
Kids Science Labs was founded in 2010 by Shegan Campbell and Keith Norsym, who hold engineering and advanced science degrees from Stanford University, University of Michigan, University of Illinois, and University of Chicago. Teachers at Kids Science Labs are trained scientists and educators. The program’s mission is to unlock every child's curiosity through hands-on science, problem solving, and creative design, with a neuroscience-inspired STEM curriculum and a PowerScience curriculum that exceeds national standards for hands-on science education. Every class, camp, or field trip starts with a brain-tickling question and leads to a series of experiments, using bright learning spaces with dry-erase walls, flexible spaces with working garage doors, and creative architecture. Kids Science Labs offers hands-on STEM programs and award-winning summer camps, and its STEM Summer Camps are ranked #1 by parents in every city they serve. The program is recognized as a top choice for science enrichment by parents across the U.S., has empowered over 100,000 young scientists since 2010, and has been featured on TV and in leading parenting publications as a fast-growing, innovative leader in hands-on science education.
Kids Science Labs partners with schools nationwide and offers programs for schools, homeschool groups, and community organizations. Parent feedback includes comments that children understand and apply concepts such as permeability, show creativity and retention after class, and talk about learning topics such as gravity and viscosity. Parents also describe their children’s excitement about themes like volcano week and note that their “little scientists” are engaged, enjoy their teachers, and talk often about their projects.
