• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Options available Monday–Sunday, 8am–5pm
Kids Science Labs features bright and beautiful learning environments at retail locations, with dry-erase walls, flexible spaces with working garage doors, and creative architecture in real science labs and beautifully designed learning centers. The program’s science labs are designed just for kids and are part of a growing network of beautifully designed science labs across major U.S. cities.
Teachers at Kids Science Labs are trained scientists and educators, and the staff includes passionate educators trained in real-world science. The leadership team includes Co-Founders Shegan Campbell and Keith Norsym. Founded in 2010 by two dads, Kids Science Labs has expanded from a single Chicago center to a growing network of science labs and has been featured on TV and in leading parenting publications over the past 15+ years.
Kids Science Labs offers award-winning, hands-on STEM programs that include engaging science camps, birthday parties, field trips, and science classes. Its neuroscience-inspired PowerScience curriculum exceeds national standards for hands-on science education, and every class, camp, or field trip starts with a brain-tickling question and leads to experiments. The program offers summer camps with weekly exciting themes that turn scientific questions into learning adventures, with flexible scheduling for camps, as well as in-school STEM labs and hands-on workshops and field trips aligned with educational goals. Kids Science Labs also partners with schools nationwide and offers programs for schools, homeschool groups, and community organizations. Recognitions include being ranked the #1 Rated STEM Camps in every market, STEM Summer Camps ranked #1 by parents in every city served, recognition as the top choice for science enrichment by parents across the U.S., and national recognition for excellence in STEM education, with hundreds of five-star reviews.
The mission of Kids Science Labs is to unlock every child's curiosity through hands-on science and to empower children through immersive, hands-on STEM education. Its stated mission is to unlock every child’s natural curiosity and unleash the brilliance of their mind so they can solve problems that are not yet visible, and through hands-on science, problem solving, and creative design, to enable the next generation with millions of innovators and creative thinkers to solve the problems of tomorrow. The program also states a mission to inspire millions of kids to explore, create, and build a better future through science.
Parent feedback includes comments that children understand and apply concepts like permeability, show creativity and retention after class, and talk about learning topics such as gravity and viscosity. Parents describe their children being excited for themes like volcano week and say their “little scientists” are engaged, love their teachers, and talk often about their projects.
