About
Northfield Park District Summer Camps include Summer Camp, Sports Camp, Trailblazers, Giggle Gang, and field trips. Trailblazers and Sports Camp include full-day field trips in summer 2026, and no half day registrations are permitted for those two camps on Wednesdays. The camps offer a Counselor in Training Program for kids entering grades 6th–9th and allow registration by the day, with participants able to pick and choose days throughout the summer. For Giggle Gang, Trailblazers, and Sports Camp, participants can select any combination of half days and full days.
• Ages: 3 years old–8th grade
• Schedule: 2026 Summer Camps run June 8–August 7, 2026
• Price: Register by March 31, 2026 to receive a 10% discount on camp fees; a 3% service fee is applied to all credit/debit card transactions
The Northfield Park District was established by referendum in 1957 as a special purpose unit of government as provided by the Illinois Park District Code, and it was started in 1957 by Jim Clarkson. From April 1998 to the present, the Park District has been housed at the Northfield Community Center. Its mission is to serve residents by supervising the usage and maintenance of park resources and by offering facilities, programs, and activities designed to meet the leisure and recreational needs of residents. The Community Center was built with the cooperation of Northfield Park District, School District 29, and the Village of Northfield, and through this arrangement each entity has first priority of the others’ facilities when not in use. A partial payment plan is available for summer camp registration upon emailing Vicki Heuer for the forms.
