Ottawa City Recreation Programs offers a variety of programs and activities for families, seniors, and kids of all ages. The program includes recreational activities and educational programming throughout the city's 21 parks and public spaces. Registration is available online, by mail, over the phone, and in person, and Ottawa Recreation accepts only cash or checks for mail-in or walk-in registration.
• Schedule: Sign-up is available at the City Recreation Office starting June 3, Monday–Friday from 9:00am–12:00pm and 1:00pm–4:00pm, with the office closing on Wednesday during Special Event Times.
• Price: Ottawa Recreation charges a $5.00 recreation fee per participant per activity for families residing outside of the Ottawa City Limits, with no outside-limits household paying more than $20.00 extra for the summer season.
Ottawa City Recreation provides recreational activities and educational programming throughout the city's 21 parks and public spaces for Ottawa residents. The Playground and Recreation Board is a city-appointed board that implements and develops park facilities in the direct interest of residents and plays a leadership role in promoting the quality of recreation for all Ottawa residents. The Recreation Director oversees the operations and finances of all recreational programs and supervised park activities for the City of Ottawa, and a former director was Mark Astle. The mission of Ottawa City Recreation is to provide recreational activities and educational programming throughout the city's 21 parks and public spaces, helping make Ottawa, IL a place to live, work, and play. Any violence, threats, bullying, destructive behavior, racist remarks, swearing, or other unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated and may result in loss of access to Ottawa Recreation equipment and an incident or police report being filed.
