About
YMCA Summer Camp includes activities such as sports, arts, science, nature, arts and crafts, sports and games, and swimming. Campers also take part in on-site and off-site field trips, as well as Specialty Camps, Sports Camps, and Aquatics Camps. Some Specialty Camps focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) topics.

YMCA Summer Camp is part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, which has 14 centers, five camps, and nearly 100 extension sites, and serves more than 200,000 YMCA members and over half a million Chicagoans each year. The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago traces its history to 1858, when Chicago’s first YMCA was created. The organization’s stated mission is to aspire to be the leading social enterprise that helps human beings explore their value and share their discoveries with the world. Families are asked to send active, comfortable clothing, close-toed shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen, a nut-free lunch and snack, and, depending on camp type, a swimsuit and towel, and may ask the site’s Camp Director about lifejackets if required for a child’s swim level.
