About
Classical Dance Academy offers classes in dance that include stretching, coordination exercises, musical forms, improvisation, and dance vocabulary. Students can take classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, tumbling, and may be invited to participate on a competition team.
• Ages: 3–17 years old
• Schedule: Class options are available Monday through Saturday with pre-dance, ballet, tap and jazz combo, hip-hop, and tumbling classes offered at various times in the late afternoon and evening during the 2025–2026 season.
CDA’s curriculum is developmentally appropriate and introduces students to the structure of class as well as stretching, coordination exercises, musical forms, improvisation and dance vocabulary. The program states that it strives for students to develop self-motivation, self-discipline, poise, grace, physical agility and an appreciation for the arts, and that it believes dedication, imagination, and hard work are important in becoming dancers. CDA’s stated goal is to instill in students a sense of respect for themselves and for the art of dance, and it describes its training as carefully guided, using humor and a hands-on commitment to excellence. The program also states that its instructors welcome families into the world of physical movement and express the hope that children’s dance goals become a reality, summarized in the phrase “Making the dream of dance a reality!”
The CDA app allows families to manage their account, register for classes, private lessons, and special events, and receive notifications about class changes, closings, registration openings, special announcements, and upcoming events. The eXpressions Competition Team is available by invitation only. Families can also watch 2024 recital videos through an online login.
