• Schedule: Full-day camp options Monday–Friday, with some camps running 7:00am–6:00pm and others 9:00am–4:00pm, and swimming offered most weekdays depending on camp type
The organization offering Summer Camp has been serving the community for 150 years. Its stated vision is to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and kids in the community through safe, accessible programs, spaces, and activities. It partners with community groups to raise awareness and address issues of childcare, senior services, food insecurity, support for foster children, educational gaps, and healthy activities in underserved communities. Campers swim under the supervision of certified lifeguards. Specialty Camps are new for 2025 at both YMCA branches, and include Adventure Camp, a field trip based specialty camp program for kids entering 5th–8th grades that travels around Central Illinois three days each week. Kinder Camp is a new option for campers entering Kindergarten and serves as an introduction to the traditional day camp experience, and every Wednesday at Kinder Camp is “Wild Wednesday,” when campers dress up in theme and join together for a camp-wide special event. The YMCA Strong Kids Fund supports underserved and at-risk kids and those with diverse abilities in accessing camps, sports, after-school programs, swimming, and YMCA activities.
