The studio states that it is committed to providing high quality dance education fostering creativity, confidence, and personal growth in an inclusive and supportive environment nourishing hearts and minds for life. The program highlights five core values: Kindness, Positivity, Authenticity, Passion, and Creativity. The studio offers a complimentary class option, music lessons, and age appropriate costuming and dance routines for young dancers, as well as Festive Weeks where students may dress up for class.

DCDS In Motion, established in 2008, is a children’s performance company for dancers at Dance Creations Dance Studio and the surrounding area. Its mission is to create an environment for dancers to expand their talents, enjoy performance type activities, and participate in projects to help others in the community. To date, DCDS In Motion has raised over $20,000 for The Illinois Capital Area Chapter of The Red Cross, The Make A Wish Foundation, The United Breast Cancer Foundation, The Ronald McDonald House, and a local boy undergoing a kidney transplant. Dance Creations Dance Studio has performed a tribute to Holocaust victims at the opening of “Stories of Survival” at The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, taken part in a “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” performance, and participated in the Ride to Remember 9-11 performance to remember those who lost their lives and to honor first responders and heroes of 9-11.

Parents and dancers have shared that DCDS offers high quality group and individualized training, and that dancers learn time management, dedication, commitment, and the importance of community, describing the studio as a fun, safe, positive environment. Families have noted the technique, artistic style, age appropriate costuming, and that dancers learn to respect themselves, work as a team, and perform in events that raise money and awareness for the community. A DCDS alum reports that years of weekly classes, conventions, competitions, workshops, guest artists, and performances at DCDS prepared her for the transition from competition dance to college dance, including learning proper technique, picking up choreography quickly, and adapting to new and different styles. Another parent reports that classes at DCDS are a highlight of the week for their children and that they appreciate the age appropriateness of costumes and dance routines for young dancers.
