St. Charles Park District Youth Camps & Dance Company offers activities such as group games, arts and crafts, circle time, playground adventures, swimming at Swanson Pool, minigolf, walking trips, science experiments, walking field trips, splashtacular water fun, simple and safe chores, meeting farm animals, farmyard games, nature walks, exploration, farm-themed activities, enjoying a snack grown in the kitchen garden, exploring nature, meeting critters, making simple crafts, playing educational and fun games, hands-on activities in art, music, exploration and sensory play, time on the playground, and dance. Dance Company participants dance, develop dance skills, develop performance abilities, perform multiple pieces at three dance competitions, take part in community performances, appear in Dance Academy showcases, participate in an annual Spring Dance Recital, perform at Scarecrow Fest, attend the Activate Your Artistry Convention, and compete at three competitions.

• Schedule: Camps and dance activities are offered in various formats, including weekly sessions from June 1–July 31, short sessions such as June 9–11 and July 14–16, and options that meet on specific weekdays during morning or regular camp hours.
• Price: Session and weekly fees range from $50–$199, with resident and non-resident rates.
Little Acorns Camp meets Tuesday–Thursday from 10–11:30am, with sessions offered June 9–11 and July 14–16, and requires closed-toe shoes. Bitty Boots Camp meets on Fridays from 9:30–11am in sessions running June 5–26 and July 10–31, and allows parents to stay on site but does not require them to stay with their child. Nature Discoverers Camp runs in weekly sessions June 1–July 31, Monday–Friday from 9:15–11:15am, is designed for children who have attended preschool, and requires campers to be age 3 and potty trained. Little Scouts meets Tuesday and Thursday from either 8:45–11:45am or 12:15–3:15pm, is led by experienced Pottawatomie Preschool staff, requires children to be fully potty trained, and asks each child to bring a snack to eat with friends.
Kindergarten Flex Camp and Flex Camp (Grades 1–2) run during regular camp hours from 8:30am–3pm and offer flexible scheduling by allowing registration for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days of camp each week. Before and After Camp is available for Flex Camps, and participants must sign up for the same days registered for all day camps. The Flex Camp fee includes walking trip admissions. Junior Farm Camp meets on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 9am–12pm in sessions running June 1–July 30, and includes simple and safe chores, meeting farm animals, farmyard games, nature walks, exploration, farm-themed activities, and enjoying a snack grown in the kitchen garden.
The Dance Company offers a fun opportunity to dance more, be part of a team, and develop self-confidence, with a Performance Team that has two levels based on age and skill ability and a Competition Team for ages 8 and older who are 8 by September 1. Competition Team requirements per week from September to May include two Company technique classes (a 45-minute Ballet/Leaps & Turns Technique class and a 45-minute Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz or Hip Hop Technique class), one 60-minute All Competition Team rehearsal, and one other 45-minute group rehearsal. Performance Team requirements per week from September to May include one 45–60 minute Recital Technique class and one 45-minute Performance Team rehearsal.
Camp counselors have experience working with children and are trained in CPR and First Aid. After registering for camp, families receive an email from ePACT to create an account and complete medical and emergency contact information, and camper information must be accurate and updated on an annual basis. To help ensure the safety of each child, families are asked to update the child’s ePACT account with any contact, medical, or authorized pick-up information on an ongoing basis. The St. Charles Park District states that it is committed to enriching quality of life through excellence in programs, parks, facilities and services and is recognized as an Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency.
The St. Charles Park District supports fundraising events for community organizations. The Competition Team performs at Scarecrow Fest, all showcases, one other local performance or community event, and the recital, while the Performance Team performs at Scarecrow Fest, all showcases, two to three local performance or community events, and the recital.
