The Warrenville Park District’s mission is to create community. The district is a local government agency located in DuPage County and covers approximately 14 square miles, and the Warrenville community has nine parks, some owned by the park district and others owned by the city and Community Unit School District 200. The district is governed by a five-member Warrenville Park District Board of Commissioners who are elected at large and serve four-year terms, and the Superintendent of Recreation is Matt Odom. The Warrenville Park District dates back to 1964 when it was incorporated as the Round Grove Park District, and in 1990 the name was changed to Warrenville Park District after a referendum expanded the boundaries to incorporate most of the city of Warrenville. The Warrenville Park District is looking to offer more culturally diverse opportunities for programs and special events and is seeking ideas from the community, and it provides park and recreation programs and services for most of the city of Warrenville and small portions of the cities of Aurora and West Chicago.
