FMC Natatorium Youth Programs take place in a 71,000 square-foot aquatic facility that includes an Olympic-size Myrtha pool and a separate training pool. The facility includes three sides of permanent seating for up to 1,200 spectators and viewing windows between the competition and training pools. The training pool area includes a parent lounge with a viewing window.
The mission of FMC Natatorium Youth Programs is to create a home for swimmers of all ages and abilities, to allow them to learn, to train and to compete. The facility was built to give Illinois age group and senior swimmers a new home for its annual meet and to host national-level events, and it will become a regional destination that makes swimming accessible to as many children and adults as possible. The second floor of the facility houses an entertainment room, swim shop, party room, and strength and conditioning room, and also offers a countertop viewing area with access to coffee or snacks from the concession stand. The meet manager room, hospitality room, and offices are accessible from the pool deck, and there are four locker rooms, two men’s and two women’s, divided between the pools. Use of the pools to regular users may be interrupted by the exclusive need of FMC Natatorium to host major meets.
