Mighty Oak Athletic’s year-round flagship Youth Strength & Agility Training program offers unlimited training sessions for one flat monthly price, with an option to come every day. Since 2013, Mighty Oak Athletic has trained thousands of student athletes ages 6 through 18. The program uses a nine-level system where every athlete progresses and promotes upon hitting standards, with a nine-level shirt wall that tracks each athlete’s progress, and every athlete receives an MOA Level 1 shirt at the first visit. The training space includes a turf training floor built for squats, deadlifts, and athletic movement, along with Rogue barbells, kettlebells, and chin-up racks. Shoes and phones go in cubbies for the full session for both kids and parents, and kids are asked to bring a water bottle. There is a parent viewing area where parents can watch sessions, and the facility is described as not being a chain gym, a CrossFit box, or a converted garage, but a dedicated youth facility with real barbells, real kettlebells, and real coaches, hosting one group of focused kids at a time. The entrance is ground-level and accessible, with easy parking in a free large parking lot directly outside the front door.

Coach Mike Ockrim is the strength training coach at Mighty Oak Athletic. He holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential, described as the gold standard for strength coaches, and has additional certifications including American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer, USA Weightlifting Level I Coach, USA Taekwondo Level I Coach, and MovNat Level I Coach. The program states the mission “WE BUILD BETTER ATHLETES” and notes that its expert trainers specialize in helping kids build strength, increase endurance, and improve overall health and wellness, and that the program is designed to enhance physical abilities and build confidence and character. Mighty Oak Athletic reports being the most trusted name in youth strength training in DuPage County and offers a free training or trial session. It serves families from many western Chicago suburbs and lists partnerships with multiple local high schools, middle schools, and youth sports organizations, including baseball, softball, football, hockey, and archery programs.
