About
Chicago Sand Volleyball offers sand volleyball training and competition during the 2025 sand season. The program includes traditional and champion circuit registration, as well as Elite Training geared for top high school and college athletes to compete at the next level. The program also runs Friday tournaments that have been switched to AVP 1 star and 2 star events, with tournament dates posted and sign-ups open.

Chicago Sand Volleyball started during the summer of 2017. Since then, it has grown into what the program describes as the strongest boys program in the country and one of the best girls programs as well. The program runs as a regional program at Four Lakes (Main) and Flick Park (North). Its stated mission is “Creating a culture of lifelong play.” The leadership team includes Coach Tim Maruyama, and Chicago Sand Volleyball was formed by lifelong friends Alex Hurlburt and Tim Maruyama. The program reports that it has medaled at the national platform and consistently seen its athletes earning bids to national championship events across the United States.
