About

Wheaton Drama Summer Workshops include Performance Theatre and Technical Theatre sessions that focus on creating full productions such as Beetlejuice Jr., Olympus, and the Summer Teen Workshop Production of Honk Jr. Students can take part in activities such as stage managing and backstage crew, sound design, costume design, and lighting design. In these workshops, students learn an entire show in just a week and bring it to life in the theatre.

• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Sessions run in late June and July 2026, with full-day options from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm or 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, including separate weeks for Beetlejuice Jr., Olympus, and a Summer Teen Workshop Production.
• Price: Tuition is $300 for 1st–4th grades, $300 for Technical Theatre (July 13–18), $375 for 5th–12th grades (Technical Theatre and Performance Theatre), and $300 per student for the Summer Teen Workshop Production.

All staff members are certified teachers and have gone through an extensive background check. Wheaton Drama has been active as a community theatre since 1931 and runs an annual Summer Children’s Workshop and a yearly scholarship for a high school senior who plans to major in Performing Arts. The organization states that its mission is to create a more engaged community and lasting friendships by sharing a passion for quality theatre and is involved in community events such as preview performances for local facilities, appearances at the Taste of Wheaton and the Fourth of July Parade, and seasonal character visits.
