Summer Dance Camps includes ballroom and Latin dance, standard dance styles, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, creative movement, yoga, Pilates, and fitness workouts. Camp days also include daily talks about dance history, dancers’ diets, work ethics, and what it takes to be successful, along with an introduction to the choreography world. Participants take part in a Thursday night sleepover with movie watching and a Friday morning team match based on dance choreography, dance history, and reenacting bad and good habits, and spend time at a water park or swimming pool as part of the camp schedule.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Intensive Summer Dance Camp at the Studio runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in five-day sessions on June 1–5, June 15–19, July 6–10, July 20–24, and August 3–7, with an additional Intensive Summer Dance Camp in Michigan from July 26 to August 1.
Summer Dance Camps is part of DanceDuo Studio’s mission to provide students of all levels with more than just dance classes, but a unique environment in which students can grow both mentally and physically as dancers. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided during camp days. The program is led by a team that includes founder and artistic director Sandra Krumhorn, along with instructors for ballroom, Latin, standard, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, yoga, Pilates, and fitness workouts such as Nathan Krumhorn, Emilia Zeikus, Max, Aira, Inga Wilke, Domas Vaitkus, Serena Pav, Nijole Cerniauskaite, Agneta, Raminta, Diana Bakas, Benas Bartninkas, Gabija Bickus, Sophia Cabrere, and Indre Jasisnskaite. DanceDuo Studio has received awards such as the 5th place Top studio award at the 2023 Windy City Dancesport competition and Top 3rd studio awards at Chicago All-Star Dancesport 2019 and Windy City Open Dancesport 2021, and its dancers have earned multiple national placements and medals at USA Dance Nationals and other American championships. The studio also organizes annual charitable dance celebrations, including events titled “Time Travelers,” “Electrified,” and “Ma chérie…will see you in Paris,” as well as other named fundraising evenings in support of youth art programs and scholarships.
