About

Special Gifts Theatre Programs includes Creativity in Motion, Musical Theatre, Encore! A Choir for All Abilities Program, and the Behind the Scenes Apprenticeship Program. Musical Theatre focuses on learning educational concepts embedded in a musical and rehearsing for a full stage production for students with disabilities. The Behind the Scenes Apprenticeship Program covers scriptwriting, set, sound, light, and costume design, along with other theater techniques.

  • Creativity in Motion — 7+ Years Old · Wednesdays 5:00-6:00 pm; Thursdays 5:00-6:00 pm; Mondays 4:30-5:30 pm
  • Musical Theatre — 10-22 Years Old · Thursdays 4:30-6:00 pm; Tuesdays 4:30-6:00 pm; Tuesdays 4:15-5:30 pm; Mondays 4:15-5:30 pm · A main stage program focusing on learning educational concepts embedded in a musical and rehearsing in preparation for a full stage production for students with disabilities.
  • Creating Outside the Lines — 22+ Years Old · Mondays 6:00-7:45 pm
  • Encore! A Choir for All Abilities Program — 18+ Years Old · Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 pm · An inclusive choir designed for all skill levels whether you are an experienced singer or just love music. Offered in the Fall Session.
  • Behind the Scenes Apprenticeship Program — 18+ Years Old · Learn about the scriptwriting process, set, sound, light, costume design and other theater techniques. 2027 Summer Session: More Information Coming Soon.

About the provider

Special Gifts Theatre’s programs are for individuals with disabilities and use educational and therapeutic techniques with the stage as the platform. The organization’s mission is to foster self-confidence, social, speech, and language skills. A 25th anniversary is mentioned on the site.

  • Peer Mentor — 10-18 Years Old · For neurotypical individuals that are matched with students in the Musical Theatre and Creativity in Motion programs.

Financial scholarships available upon request. Student (individual with disabilities) registration full, waitlist available for Encore!; space still available for neurotypical choir members. All students/peer mentors/buddies are directed to the revised online Comprehensive Registration Profile process.
