About
Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana Summer Camp includes activities such as exploring nature, making crafts, learning outdoor skills, playing games, cooking over a fire, swimming, and hiking. Campers can take part in three-day samplers, weeklong sessions, or longer stays, including backcountry programs that range from level 1 to level 4. In backcountry trips, campers take an active role in organizing trip details, carrying or paddling all gear, cooking meals over a fire, purifying water, navigation, and following the Leave No Trace principles.
• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: Day camp programs run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with options for three-day samplers, weeklong sessions from Sunday afternoon to Friday evening, and one- or two-week backcountry programs that begin Sunday afternoon and end Friday evening.
• Price: Bus transportation is an additional $100 per camper per week for day camp, $60 per camper per week for half-week programs, and $20 per camper per week for the overnight experience.
