The YMCA of Monroe County states that its mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The YMCA of Monroe County describes itself as a charitable organization with an inclusive environment committed to enriching the quality of family, spiritual, social, mental, and physical well-being, and it offers group exercise classes, youth programs, swim lessons, and adult health programs. One membership provides access to both the Southeast and Northwest YMCA branches, and the Y Fieldhouse, originally built in 2012 as the Gymnastics Center, was converted into a state-of-the-art indoor baseball facility that continues to host select Y programs and Sports Camps. Camp Counselors are needed for multiple age groups: Preschool (ages 3–5), Elementary (ages 6–8), and Upper Elementary/Teen (ages 9–13).

The Aquatics Director connected with the YMCA is required to have a bachelor’s degree, maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, and possess and maintain current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, with Lifeguard Instructor certification required within the first year of employment. The Aquatics Director role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, the ability to quickly learn other software programs, and a record of organizational and supervisory skills, and this position reports to the COO. Day Camp Counselors report to the Youth and Family Program Coordinator.
