About
Pottery House Studio Kids' Classes & Camps offers pottery painting, hand-building, a one-time pottery wheel session, weekly clay classes, and painting summer camps. Kids can work on specific projects such as clay mobiles and a stoneware slab tray. The studio fires finished pieces in its kilns and lets families know when the work is ready for pickup. Walk-ins are welcome for pottery painting and hand-building, while registration is required for the one-time pottery wheel session.
• Schedule: Open Tuesday–Wednesday 1pm–9pm, Thursday–Saturday 10am–9pm, and Sunday 1pm–6pm; closed Mondays
Pottery House Studio Kids' Classes & Camps takes place in a paint studio with hundreds of unique pieces to paint and over 100 glaze options, and in a clay studio equipped with 10 student pottery wheels, three large kilns, stamps, rollers, and equipment for advanced clay projects. The studio provides all tools and equipment needed for students to use the pottery wheels and work with clay. It can also ship finished pieces for families who live out of town. The program offers workshops for all skill levels, community painting nights, and parties for birthdays, celebrations, and holiday get-togethers. Seasonal project options include ornaments, lighted trees, and jack-o-lanterns.
Susan leads pottery instruction and has been teaching pottery to adults and children for over 25 years. She trained in Faenza, Italy, and her work is inspired by traditional Italian Maiolica. For many years, she sold her work in galleries, art fairs, and to private collectors and gave workshops around the United States and abroad. The studio’s stated mission is: “Pottery House Studio invites you to explore, create, and connect!”
