About
Bloomington United Arts Dance Program offers dance instruction along with gymnastics. The program also includes a kids theatre group and a women’s dance group. New students can schedule a free trial class to experience the program’s offerings.
Elise Young is the studio owner and earned a BFA in Dance, a minor in Small Business & Entrepreneurship, and an MS in Finance, and she has taught at Pure Barre Bloomington as a barre instructor since 2018. Emily Edwards was a competitive gymnast for 15 years through her senior year of high school and trained to level 9 on vault, bars, beam, and floor. Bloomington United Arts states that it is dedicated to providing excellent dance instruction in a faith-based environment and encourages students to boldly embrace their God-given gifts, express themselves with confidence, and find joy in movement and community. The studio notes that it is more than a dance studio and describes itself as a community. All classes are taught with an emphasis on family values, focusing on a more modest approach in selections of movement, music, and costumes, and the studio welcomes dancers of all backgrounds. The faculty is described as dedicated to providing top-tier dance education in a safe environment, and the studio focuses on creativity, discipline, resilience, work ethic, and respect.
