About

The Point Theater offers workshops in dance, vocals, acting, and improv, along with summer camp offerings. Students also take part in theatrical productions that are described by the organization as high quality and professional-level. The Point Theater describes itself as the Midwest's largest youth theater and states that audience members come to see children's theater but leave seeing a professional level performance.

• Schedule: Summer camp offerings

The Point Theater states that it is proudly faith-based and non-discriminatory and that it is committed to advancing inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility for all. The organization describes its mission as cultivating a safe and inclusive community where students can authentically express themselves, fostering personal growth, achievement, and artistic education within a backdrop of mutual respect, support, and amusement, and delivering what it calls jaw-droppingly amazing theatrical performances. It also states that no student is ever turned away from The Point due to financial need and that it prioritizes building character and creating a safe, happy place for its students as a non-profit 501(c)3 educational organization. The Point Theater notes that it provides students with the opportunity to tell their stories through performance and a supportive space for social bonding, and that it focuses on self-confidence, empathy, focus, teamwork, creative thinking, and problem solving.

The leadership team includes Founder and Artistic Director Laura Baltz, Managing Director Kim Drake, Production Coordinators Jessalyn Larsen and Alexia Aung, Ticket Coordinator Lindsay True, Graphic Design staff member Sara Musick, and Show/Production Coordinator Grace Kubek. The program notes that Alexia graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Theater. One student testimonial from Grace, age 11, says that The Point gives her a place to be herself, where she does not have to worry if she is different or saying the right thing, and that she feels like she is home every time she is at The Point.
