Some activities, such as the Disc Golf Putting League, track scores through sessions and award prizes to top scorers, and Family Bingo and Make Your Own Sundae Night awards prizes to bingo winners and is limited to five members per family.

The Columbus Parks and Recreation Board’s mission is “To enrich lives” within the department’s planning area. The Board operates under the “Indiana Parks and Recreation Law” (IC 36-10-3) in accordance with City Ordinance, and the City of Columbus is an Equal Opportunity Employer with a stated nondiscrimination policy covering race, religion, creed, color, natural origin, ancestry, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and liability for service in the Armed Forces of the United States. The Board includes President Dave Bush, Vice President Brian Wilson, Secretary Miriam Portaluppi, member Chaz Smith, and City Council Liaison Frank Miller, and the Mayor of Columbus, Indiana is Mary K. Come Out & Play campers receive weekly visits from community guests from the library. The Movies in the Park Series is sponsored by The Columbus Park Foundation, and Columbus Parks and Recreation lists Community Partners and the Columbus Park Foundation as support entities. The department notes that the FOCDC contracted MKSK to conduct a Master Plan of the Fair Oaks Mall and Donner Center, and it uses the Remind notification system to alert participants of cancellations and closures due to weather.
