The program includes Parent & Tot and Pre-K Explorers programs, after-school language programs, community center language programs, online LIVE “ZOOM” language programs, private one-on-one language learning lessons, and Summer Camps that teach both the language and the cultures of five different native-speaking countries. Activities in camps and classes can include Flamenco dance and learning what an Alpine marmot is, and all age-appropriate activities are conducted completely in the target language with between-classroom learning supported by practice sheets, Quizlet games, cartoons, YouTube videos, and suggested tablet and phone apps.
• Ages: 18 months–14 years old
Cultured Kids Club uses its professionally developed and copyrighted “Language In Action®” curriculum, which focuses on speaking, reading, and writing and is designed to progress language skills through six language proficiency levels to achieve bilingual fluency. Classes are categorized by each student’s age and proficiency level, structured toward language proficiency and age, and are designed to educate and support children at their individual level with everyday social interaction and common communication topics. All registered students and families receive a password to their class’s “Student Corner” webpage, which provides extra learning materials such as practice sheets, Quizlet games, cartoons, YouTube videos, and suggested tablet and phone apps. Small class sizes of 6–8 children are led by native-speaking or fluent teachers described as “the crème de la crème of language educators,” and the curriculum aligns with ACTFL standards.
Teachers at Cultured Kids Club have native pronunciation and communication skills, are CPR and First Aid certified, are up-to-date on FBI and BCI background checks, and have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with early education experience. They are trained and proficient in Total Immersion and Total Response teaching methods and are experienced in administering “Language In Action®” classes at every age and skill level, and Cultured Kids Club only hires teachers with teaching experience and with native or fluent communication skills. Since 2008, Cultured Kids Club has educated thousands of students in foreign language proficiency. Cultured Kids Club’s goal is to provide children the advanced language skills necessary to achieve native-level communication in reading, writing, and verbal pronunciation for a lifetime of opportunity in education, employment and world adventure.
Cultured Kids Club offers Spanish, French, and Chinese classes in local Community Recreation Centers and after-school programs in Elementary, Middle, or Private schools, with programs in more than 50 locations throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Online LIVE “ZOOM” programs and private lessons are available at home or in CKC language centers, and after-school programs are offered before or after the regular school day. Summer Camps are designed to teach children both the language and the cultures of five different native-speaking countries.
One parent shared, “We’ve been coming to Spanish class for our 3 year old since he was 1 1/2. It’s a great place to be around other toddlers, learn and enrich his mind with new ideas and topics every week. We’re planning on joining the advanced pre-k class!” — Brittany Y.
