About
Nike Kids Camps powered by i9 Sports offers day camp sessions where kids take part in flag football, soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, lacrosse, tennis, cheerleading, and multi-sport programs. The camps are described as a chance to spend a week trying multiple new sports in a fun-filled atmosphere. Day camps combine the organization, fun and inclusiveness of i9 Sports with the sport science and elevated experience of Nike programming.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Day camps described as a chance to spend a week trying multiple new sports
The program mission is to help kids succeed in life through sports by teaching the importance of good sportsmanship on the field and in life. Nike Kids Camps powered by i9 Sports are designed for campers ages 5–12, with age groups broken out so all kids work on age-appropriate skills. Each week, i9 Sports integrates one of nine sportsmanship values into practice and game play across all age groups and uses a sportsmanship medal program to recognize players who best demonstrate the weekly sportsmanship value. i9 Sports is the nation’s largest multi-sport provider focused solely on high-quality, community-based youth sports programs and offers youth sports leagues, camps and clinics for kids ages 3 and up. The organization is committed to providing age-appropriate instruction, making sports fun for kids, and being convenient for busy families.
i9 Sports is proud to support the Aspen Institute’s national Project Play initiative and has been selected as a Project Play Champion for encouraging multi-sport sampling and helping grow national youth sports participation rates. One parent shared that the program has been very well run, with a focus on teaching good sportsmanship and respect for one another, and that it has been a positive experience to see kids have a great time playing a sport with no pressure about performance. Another parent noted that they appreciated having practice, game, and fun all in one morning and felt their children learned a lot with a well-organized coach. Additional parent feedback described appreciation for structured physical activity during COVID and for communication and measures to keep kids as safe as possible.
