About
Soccer Shots is a soccer program where children participate in soccer activities using their feet, dribbling, and learning basic rules of the game. Sessions take place in a safe environment called Soccer Island and use songs, fun games, creative and imaginative games, and team competitions as part of the soccer experience.
• Ages: 18 months–8 years old
Soccer Shots offers programs for children 18 months to 8 years old with a focus on a positive introduction to sports and activity. The MINI (toddler) program is a high-energy option that introduces fundamental soccer principles such as using feet, dribbling, and basic rules of the game, using songs, fun games, and positive reinforcement. The CLASSIC (preschool) program uses creative and imaginative games that focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting, and each session highlights a positive character trait such as respect, teamwork, or appreciation. The PREMIER (school-age) program is an advanced option that uses a curriculum for school-aged children that builds on skills and introduces competitive play through fun games and team competitions.
The Soccer Shots curriculum is expert-designed, age-appropriate, and developmentally appropriate, with an emphasis on character development and skill building. The program was created under the guidance of childhood education specialists, professional soccer players, and experienced and licensed soccer coaches. Every Soccer Shots coach must complete a comprehensive training program to receive certification, is trained in developmentally appropriate techniques, is routinely evaluated, and participates in ongoing training, and the coach selection process evaluates both soccer coaching ability and the ability to engage and inspire children.
Soccer Shots was formed in 1997. In 2005, Soccer Shots began franchising and opened its first four franchises in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania. The founding partners are Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, and in May of 2009, Justin Bredeman became the third Soccer Shots partner. From its beginnings, Soccer Shots has grown to over 300 territories across 43 states and 2 Canadian provinces, with over 560,000 enrollments in Soccer Shots programming in 2023. Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC is based in central Pennsylvania, just east of Harrisburg.
Soccer Shots states its mission as aiming to positively impact children’s lives as the premier children’s soccer experience. Through partnerships with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Nike, and other organizations, Soccer Shots aims to impact children and communities across the U.S. and the world. Soccer Shots is consistently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in the U.S.
Parents have shared feedback about the program. One parent from Kalamazoo, Michigan, described a daughter’s experience moving from the MINI to the CLASSIC program and noted learning soccer skills, taking turns, independence, and how to cheer for others. A parent from Phoenix, Arizona, commented that the instructor was great and that their family signed up for the summer season. A parent from Dallas, Texas, described seeing growth in a daughter over the months she has been with Soccer Shots. A parent from San Diego, California, described the program as organized and noted that coaches kept the kids engaged.
