About

Soccer Shots is a soccer program where children take part in soccer activities. The program uses a curriculum that places an emphasis on character development and skill building. Sessions take place in an environment called Soccer Island, and activities are taught by fully trained coaches.

• Ages: 18 months–8 years old

Every Soccer Shots coach must complete a comprehensive training program to receive certification, and all coaches are trained in the use of developmentally appropriate techniques. Coaches are routinely evaluated and take part in ongoing training. Soccer Shots offers MINI (Toddler), CLASSIC (Preschool), and PREMIER (School-Age) programs that are expert-designed and age-appropriate. The organization proactively communicates cancellations due to weather or other circumstances.

Soccer Shots was formed in 1997. In 2005, it began franchising and opened its first four franchises in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania. From its beginnings, Soccer Shots has grown to over 300 territories across 43 states and 2 Canadian provinces. Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC is based in central Pennsylvania, just east of Harrisburg. There were over 560,000 enrollments in Soccer Shots programming in 2023.

The founding partners, Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, were soccer teammates in college and professionally, and in May 2009, Justin Bredeman, another former college soccer teammate, became the third Soccer Shots partner. Soccer Shots states that its mission as the premier children’s soccer experience is to positively impact children’s lives. Through partnerships with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Nike, and other organizations, Soccer Shots aims to impact children and communities across the U.S. and the world. Soccer Shots is consistently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in the U.S.

Parents have shared feedback about the program. One parent from Kalamazoo, Michigan, described watching a daughter move from the Mini to the Classic program and noted that the child learned soccer skills, taking turns, independence, and how to cheer for others. A parent from Phoenix, Arizona, said their instructor was great and that they signed up for the summer season. A parent from Dallas, Texas, described seeing growth in a daughter over the months she has been with Soccer Shots. A parent from San Diego, California, described the program as organized and said the coaches did an effective job of keeping the kids engaged.
