About
Conner Prairie Camps and Youth Programs take place within a large outdoor museum setting that includes areas such as 1836 Prairietown, Treetop Outpost, Promised Land as Proving Ground, William Conner House, 1859 Balloon Voyage, Animal Encounters, Ag Adventures Playground, Trails at Conner Prairie, Lenape Camp, River Crossing Splash Pad, and the Museum Experience Center. The program is part of a site described as a place of “doing,” with interactive, immersive, and hands-on experiences across its grounds.
Conner Prairie Camps and Youth Programs are part of an organization whose mission is to be a unique historic place that inspires curiosity and fosters learning by providing engaging and individualized experiences for everyone. It has earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid’s GuideStar and has been named one of the top five most visited outdoor museums in the United States and one of six Magnetic Museums in the country in the book “Magnetic: The Art and Science of Engagement.” Recognitions connected to its experiences include the 2026 Best New Experience for Promised Land as Proving Ground from the Indiana Tourism Association, Midwest Living’s Best of the Midwest 2022: Best Historical Site, and the Indianapolis Star Official Community Choice Awards 2020 as Best Historical Site and Best Summer Camp.
