Brightlane Learning focuses on students impacted by homelessness and housing instability and provides personalized tutoring and academic support while advocating for their families as they navigate the educational system. The program works through school-based programs that offer structured, personalized academic support in small groups to K–12 students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. It also operates community-based programs in shelters and community centers and offers academic enrichment and social emotional learning, including hands-on calming activities and performance and art experiences throughout the year. Brightlane Learning provides transportation support and enrollment assistance for families experiencing homelessness and connects families to social service providers, community partners, and educational services. The organization has over 20 years of experience, was founded in 2001, and serves more than 750 students each year. It has received the Indiana Achievement Award in 2004 and the CHIP Blueprint Champion Award in 2009. The leadership and staff team includes roles such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Education Directors, Education Support Coordinators, Learning Assistants, Curriculum Specialist, Volunteer Manager, and members of a board with officers including a Board Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary.
