About

Children’s Village offers a curriculum that takes a whole-child approach, supporting physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development through engaging, play-based learning. The program uses tailored learning experiences that focus on each child individually and educates children through play. The facility includes an indoor playscape that provides an open, well-lit space for children to get exercise when the weather is poor, and the building layout allows older children to play on one end while smaller children play on the other.

• Ages: 0–5 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday, 6am–6pm; tours available Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm EST

Children’s Village states that every child deserves a safe, loving environment in which to learn, play, and grow. The center is staffed by qualified childcare professionals, including students from Ivy Tech Bloomington’s early childhood department, and offers ongoing professional development for staff. It is a Paths to Quality Level 4 provider, which is the highest rating in Indiana, and it is accredited by the Council on Accreditation. The website for Children’s Village is supported by Grant Number 05HP000622-01-00 from the Office of Head Start within the Administration for Children and Families, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Parents describe staff as patient and accommodating and say they felt apprehensive at first about using child care but ended up very happy with the experience. Families report that their children enjoyed a fun and educational place to play and learn while they were at work and that their children gained independence, friendship, and strength of character at Children’s Village. Parents also note that teachers and staff members make sure they know how their children are doing.
