Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy offers youth theater shows, classes, camps, auditions, music lessons, and set build activities. Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy, Inc. began as Center Grove Fine Arts Academy, an extension of the Worship Ministry of Center Grove Church, with its first production, Godspell Jr., in January 2014 and 30 students participating. In the spring of 2018, the production of Mary Poppins had over 150 students participating. The organization became a non-profit in 2018 and changed its name to Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy in August 2019. The program is led by Executive Director Mark Landis.
According to its mission statement, Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy is a youth theater program serving the metro area of Indianapolis that focuses on character, work ethic, social bonds, growth, and relationships, and it is a values-based program that strives to strengthen relationships and grow those who attend. The mission statement also says the program aims to feel like a community when a show is done, hopes actors grow to be leaders in the community, and is intentional in building relationships as a context for change and growth.
