About

The Early Learning Center Preschool and Pre-K Program offers traditional preschool and pre-K classes in an inclusive environment, with developmentally appropriate, play-based, active learning opportunities. Every classroom provides a safe and warm environment where children are encouraged to be creative, grow socially and academically, and build a positive self-awareness. Children receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack daily, with meals provided by Child Nutrition Services staff at North Central High School and served at the Early Learning Center, and meal costs are included in tuition.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Full-day and half-day preschool and pre-K options Monday–Friday, with before care available from 6:30–8:30 and after care from 3:30–5:30
• Price: Preschool and pre-K full day $900 per month or $9,500 per year (10 payments of $950); half day $450 per month or $4,750 per year ($475 per month); additional $25 per month for drop-off between 6:30–7:00 am or pick-up after 5:00 pm; no tuition for half-day students who access special education services, with half-day tuition charged if families enroll those students for the second half of the day

The program’s mission is to create a loving, inclusive preschool community where every child is connected, challenged, and celebrated, with a belief that all children are capable learners who will grow and thrive through patience, guidance, and play-based experiences. It states a commitment to being a welcoming and supportive school family and to fostering a safe, welcoming environment where children feel secure, respected, and empowered to be themselves. The Early Learning Center is a licensed early childhood program that follows all requirements as a Legally Licensed Exempt Childcare Center, and teachers and assistants follow the Indiana Early Learning Standards using a research-based curriculum along with the Paths to Quality Level 3 standards.

The program offers traditional preschool and pre-K classes for students who need a full or half day program in an inclusive environment, and enrollment is open for all students in the full and half day program, limited to families who live or work in the Washington Township School district. It accepts CCDF and On My Way Pre-K vouchers. Student-to-staff ratios are 10 to 1 for three-year-olds, 12 to 1 for four-year-olds, and 15 to 1 for five-year-olds.

Washington Township School Social Workers connect families to school and community resources, and the Early Learning Center works with the WTS resource team, including therapists, to ensure the program meets each child’s specific needs. The belief in an inclusive environment is reflected in team members working with this resource team to meet each child’s specific needs. The contact person for the program is Kristin Parisi, who can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at (317) 259-5458.
