Expressenz Dance Center Recreational Dance Program offers classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and lyrical. The program takes place at Expressenz Dance Center and uses multiple dance studios for these classes.
• Schedule: Class options Monday–Friday from 3:00PM–9:00PM and Saturday from 10:00AM–3:00PM
Expressenz Dance Center opened its doors in September 2008. The stated mission is to foster the love of dance among children and to welcome both serious dancers and those who dance for enjoyment and recreation, with various programs that allow each student to find the commitment level that is right for them while learning and growing as a dancer. Expressenz states that it prides itself on having a qualified faculty that provides excellent training while creating a family atmosphere. In 2024 Expressenz won Studio of the Year, an award that recognizes excellence in dance education across various styles and age divisions. The Recreational Dance Program includes performance opportunities in a Holiday Showcase and a Spring Recital, and it offers flexible enrollment so dancers can join or drop classes anytime during the season. The studio also hosts an annual NZ Technique Intensive that allows dancers from all over the country to train like an Expressenz dancer for a weekend. Expressenz was asked to audition for NBC's show “World Of Dance” in August 2017 and performed on the “World Of Dance” stage.
