Iibada Dance Company Programs

Iibada Dance Company Programs offers Pre-Academy and Dance Basics classes, Academy weekly classes, Performing Company training, Dare to Dance, community dance classes and programs, and adult class sessions. Pre-Academy and Dance Basics is for ages 3 to 7 and costs $75 to $100 per month. Academy is for ages 8 to 18 and costs $95 to $159 per month, and the Performing Company costs $150 per month.

• Academy — 8-18 · Weekly classes · $95–$159 per month · Aspiring dancers; pre-professional training and technique-focused classes.
• Performing Company — $150 per month · Audition-based pre-professional youth dancers; requires commitment to one year in one source.
• Dare to Dance — Grades 5-12 · During school and after school hours · Community-based program providing equitable access to arts education; 8 to 12 weeks of training within the school year.
• Community dance classes and programs — Community classes and programs are provided.

About the provider

Iibada has operated for 37 years and has shaped the lives of more than 10,000 students and families across Central Indiana. It is Indianapolis’s oldest youth dance organization and is rooted in African and Modern dance. Its mission is to provide cultural enrichment, discipline, arts education, and opportunities to build and empower youth, families, and communities through dance and to build skills for life to help unlock full potential. The organization also partners with schools, offers workshops for schools and communities, and serves underserved communities through Dare to Dance.

Classes are for all skill levels. Pre-Academy and Academy tuition is monthly. Dancers must audition to join the Company. The Performing Company requires a 2.8 GPA or higher, technical and performance requirements, rehearsals, scheduled performances, company guidelines, and good financial standing.
