The IRT Theatre Summer Camp is part of the Indiana Repertory Theatre, which was founded in 1972 and enters its 54th Season from September 23, 2026 through May 9, 2027. The program is welcoming to all genders, races, and abilities and offers programs for grades K–12. The Two Week Advanced Acting Intensive culminates in a performance that caps off the summer of workshops, and Let’s Put On a Play! gives younger actors the chance to perform a short play at the end of the week. Musical Theatre of the Golden Age focuses on classic musicals such as Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady, and Guys and Dolls, while Musical Theatre of the Contemporary Age focuses on contemporary musicals such as A Chorus Line, The Lion King, Legally Blonde, and Hamilton. Introduction to Musical Theatre does not require prior experience, and Movement and Dance for Actors focuses on physicality using dance, yoga, and warm-ups. Comedy Camp includes improv, stand-up, and farce, and Mini Camp provides a light snack.

All personal electronic devices are securely stored until the end of each day, making the workshops tech-free zones for campers. Campers need to bring snacks, lunch, and a water bottle each day, with refrigeration available but no microwaves, and they are asked to wear comfortable clothing with closed-toed shoes that allow them to move freely. Registration opens February 2, 2026. The Indiana Repertory Theatre lists Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director Benjamin Hanna and Managing Director Suzanne Sweeney as its leadership team and states a mission of being committed to building a vital, vibrant and informed community through the transformational power of live theatre. The theatre also offers student matinees for all of its productions through the Christel DeHaan Student Matinee Program. One audience member, Kelly D., notes having experienced at least 20 different shows at the IRT, including farce comedies and dramatic episodes, and describes each performance as memorable in its own way.
