Next 11 Academy is the flagship soccer program of Next Academy Inc. and is described as a premier youth soccer club on the Westside of Indianapolis. The program includes travel soccer, tryouts, training sessions, small-sided games, competitive games, tournaments, keeper training, winter training, and sports performance training. The approach prioritizes individual player development over team success and uses a comprehensive player development curriculum that consists of five stages.
• Ages: 7–15 years old
• Schedule: 10-month program (Fall 2025, Winter 2025, Spring 2026)
Next 11 Academy offers a Junior Academy program for ages 7–8, an Academy program for ages 9–11, and an Elite Program for ages 12 and above. Club registration fees include training sessions, tournaments, league registration, coach stipends, overhead expenses, administrative tools, coaching education, liability insurance, and player and family outreach. Next 11 Academy is distinct from the Indianapolis-based professional soccer team Indy Eleven and is committed to inclusivity and breaking down the pay-to-play model prevalent in youth soccer.
Next 11 Academy is the soccer arm of Next Academy Inc., an Indiana 501c3 nonprofit organization. Next Academy Inc. states that it is passionately dedicated to empowering the youth of Indianapolis by providing diverse opportunities in sports, arts, entrepreneurship, and coding, with a mission to break down systemic barriers and offer access to crucial programs. Next Academy Inc. is deeply rooted in underserved spaces and is committed to uplifting Indianapolis youth by offering programs in sports, arts, and entrepreneurship.
The leadership team includes Tamba Samba as Founder and Executive Director of Coaching and founder and leader of Next Academy Inc., with Lauren Holiday listed as a supporter and Jrue Holiday as a supporter and partner. Tamba Samba is a former Division I soccer player at the University of Notre Dame, was the first-ever first-team All-State men’s soccer player at Ben Davis, won the first sectional championship there, earned three monograms for Notre Dame, and was recognized as part of the All-M.I.C Conference 25th Anniversary Team. Tamba Samba also works as a UX design lead for Salesforce and is co-founder and CEO of a tech startup, COSA, and the coaching staff is described as qualified and professional.
Lauren Holiday is a World Cup winner, an Olympic gold medalist, and an inductee into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Jrue Holiday is a two-time NBA Champion and Olympic gold medalist. In a testimonial about the collaboration with Next Academy Inc., Lauren Holiday said, “This collaboration holds a special place in my heart as it directly impacts the place and people who supported me through my developmental years. It’s a full-circle moment, allowing me to use my experience to create opportunities for young talents in my hometown.”
Next Academy Inc. has entered into an agreement with MSD Wayne Township to establish a multifunctional educational and recreational community facility on land parcels near Ben Davis High School. Next Academy Inc. will occupy multiple acres of undeveloped land on what is currently known as Wayne Sports Park at 7550 W. 21st Street in Indianapolis. The project is described as an economic driver for local hotels, restaurants, and businesses and as improving Wayne Township, and planned facilities include an indoor soccer facility, a stadium with a grandstand, a community campus with meeting rooms and event spaces, and top-tier indoor and turf facilities.
