About

Indiana State Museum Camps and Youth Programs take place within the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites system, which includes three floors of galleries and exhibits exploring Indiana’s art, science, culture and innovation. The museum and historic sites hold more than 500,000 objects that are part of the environment for these camps and youth programs. Visitors younger than age 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during a visit, program or event.

• Schedule: Indiana State Museum hours: Open Wednesday – Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm.
• Price: General Admission: Members Free; Children younger than 3 Free; Adults (18–59) $23; Seniors (60+) $21; Youth (3–17) $17; College Students with valid ID from any Indiana college or university $5; Access Pass Members $5.

The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites system includes 11 historic sites: Angel Mounds, Corydon Capitol, Culbertson Mansion, Gene Stratton-Porter, Lanier Mansion, Levi and Catharine Coffin, Limberlost, New Harmony, T.C. Steele, Vincennes and Whitewater Canal. An Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites membership provides free admission to the museum, the 11 historic sites and more than 600 other museums and science centers nationally. A $4 parking validation is included with the purchase of an admission ticket for a visit, program or event, with a $20 purchase from the Indiana Store or with a $10 purchase from the cafe, and purchasing admission online reduces the ticket price by $1 per ticket.

K–12 field trip admission to the museum is free for pre-registered Indiana school groups of 10 or more K–12 students, including teachers and bus drivers plus one additional adult chaperone per every five students, and museum memberships do not apply to field trips. K–12 field trip admission is also free for homeschool groups of 10 or more K–12 students, with one free adult per every five K–12 students, and kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 1 at the start of the school year for homeschool group admission. The registration deadline for field trips is one week prior, and additional programming fees and IMAX Theater admission prices vary.

By visiting the museum, visitors grant permission to use photographs and audiovisual recordings in which they appear for archival, educational and promotional purposes, and “no photo” stickers are available at the ticket counter for visitors who do not want to be photographed. Museum free days, with no preregistration required, are Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 19), Presidents Day (Feb. 16) and Juneteenth (observed June 20). The museum holiday schedule is: New Year’s Day – open; Easter – closed; Memorial Day – open; July 4 – open; Labor Day – open; Veterans Day – closed; Thanksgiving – closed; Christmas Day – closed.
